Hello Sipherians! This page contains all information related to the benefits of owning a Genesis Sipher. We hope that this can help address or provide clarity over the benefits you would receive for owning one of the Genesis Siphers.

📌

Please note that for purposes of the information shared in our Sipher Atlas, a Genesis Sipher is considered to be one of the first 10,000 Siphers of each race (i.e. Inu, Neko, Tori, Buru) that are minted, which had been or will be sold directly by the team, and are not a result of cloning. This means that any other Siphers that were the result of cloning will NOT be considered a Genesis Sipher, and will NOT be receiving these benefits.

Primary Benefits of Being a Genesis Sipher Holder

Create Initial Supply for an Increasing Player Base

The primary benefit of owning a Genesis Sipher now is that you'll be the ones that begin the creation of the other non-genesis Siphers. Think similar to Zed Run and Axie, whereby only those that owned the first genesis/origin NFTs were able to breed first and extract the most money given their first mover advantage.

In-Game Skin and Character Uniqueness

Your character will be UNIQUE and no other characters after these Genesis Siphers will look like yours in the game. The traits you see in your 2D avatar NFT should be the same that you see in your in-game character. You can consider this as your very own and unique character skin. This is NOT something that the future cloned Siphers (anything cloned by players, after the initial 10,000 Genesis Siphers) will benefit from, as they will most likely have a "standard-looking" skin.

Proof of Play Advantages

Additionally, although the land system has not been set in place given that the mechanics of how it will work is still not yet complete, as a Genesis Sipher holder with beta access to the early state of the game, you will be the first group of players to gain an advantageous headstart in terms of understanding the mechanics and how to best optimize your gameplay to obtain the requirements (e.g. Proof of Play) to be eligible to purchase land.

Cloning Advantages

As an early teaser of some of the upcoming game mechanics, your Genesis Sipher NFTs will have the highest chances to create Sipher clones with the best stats.

Note: A clone is essentially a Sipher character that was created from another Sipher NFT with the help of the Mad Scientist and by using some resources. These clones can be used to play the game, to sell, lend, rent or transfer to others, etc. Refer to the following page for a few more details related to cloning

.

How does this work?

Let's explain this by using an example given that the mechanics for cloning are not yet complete. Say you have a Genesis Sipher, and let's assume that the base stat is measured in numbers, with a maximum of 100 (base stat) for a Genesis Sipher.

If you were to create clone from a Genesis Sipher, you would have a higher chance to create a clone (Clone X for purposes of our example) with the highest maximum stat of 120. However, if you were to create another clone (Clone Y) from this Clone X, the chances would be way lower for this new Clone Y to get the maximum stat level of 120.

So essentially, you can potentially create the best Sipher Characters from your Genesis Siphers; and they could even be better than your original Genesis Sipher that you cloned from. Note that this is all an example and is not final, there may be additional complexities but this is the way that we envision the system.

Benefits Exclusive to Genesis Siphers

In addition to the primary benefits noted above, there are only a few exclusive benefits that have been announced as of now. You could consider these short-term "bonuses" for being one of the True Siphers and continuing to support us all the way until the release of the game, and maybe even after that!

The following are some of the exclusive benefits you receive as a Genesis Sipher holder:

Early Access to the Game

Early Access to Game Testing

Each Genesis Sipher will be your "key" to play the Sipher game once it launches. This means that you will be the first ones to play the game before everyone else does. So consider yourselves the "OGs", or "Beta Testers". Anyone else that wants to play the game that does not own a Genesis Sipher will need to either buy one from the secondary marketplace (such as OpenSea), or buy a cloned Sipher once that functionality becomes available.

Please note that this benefit will be available in order of species launch, meaning that those Sipher species that were minted earlier will receive access a little earlier than than the other Genesis Siphers (for example, Inus will play before Nekos, Nekos before Toris, and so on and so forth)

Early Access - Future Game Modes

Additionally, you will have early access for future game modes after the initial open early access. For instance, after the initial early access for PvE mode, even if there are clones available before the launch of the PvP mode, only Genesis Holders will be able to play the PvP game mode early access.

Claim In-Game Usernames Earlier

Those who hold Genesis Sipher NFTs can claim their very own in-game usernames before other players that come in later by purchasing a clone. More details to be revealed in the future.

Private Slot Benefits

As a Genesis Sipher holder, there will be various opportunities for you to be on a fast-track to being whitelisted for private sale in future Sipher Character drops, and may even be able to mint future Sipher Character NFTs for free as part of the Guildmaster Program. Please refer to the following links for further details regarding these benefits and programs.

Spaceships

Spaceships are flying "mounts" that your Sipher characters will be able to use in-game for travelling across Sipheria. However, you will need to combine various Spaceship parts and bring them to the Sipherian Ship Yard to fully create a Spaceship. As a Genesis Sipher holder, you will be able to mint LIMITED EDITION parts - once a week per each Genesis Sipher NFT held, at random times, random max quantities and random drop rates. You will only need to pay gas*.

🗒ī¸

* As of this time, we are planning to have these parts be Blueprint Code in forms of ERC-1155 tokens and the Space Ship will be a ERC-721 token. Given the high gas fees in Ethereum, and the amount of parts to mint, we are currently working towards finding the best solution for for minting the Spaceship parts. This could be either another L1 or L2 solution. Please bear with us and we will provide more information once available!

These can be minted in order of launch, meaning that those Sipher species that came out earlier will receive more parts as they can start minting earlier than the other Genesis Siphers (for example, Inus will mint before Nekos, Nekos before Toris, and so on and so forth). Further, each Genesis Sipher species will receive limited edition parts that will be exclusively obtainable by that specific species, and that will be cosmetically consistent with that species (for instance, Spaceship parts that are exclusive to a Genesis Sipher Inu will only be obtainable via minting by a Genesis Sipher Inu, and when you see these parts on the ship, you will notice that they are built specifically to match a Sipher Inu).

Please note that Spaceships are not limited to use by the Genesis Siphers, given that you could trade them on a secondary marketplace. However, only Genesis Siphers will be receiving these limited edition parts, and as such will be the first ones to bring these to the market.

You can refer to this link for further details regarding the Spaceships and free minting of Spaceship parts.

Sipher Comic Mint Pass

Each Genesis Sipher NFT will be given the opportunity to mint a FREE Sipher Comic Mint Pass. The comics will span the story of Sipheria including the lore, stories of characters, stories of dungeons and fights, faction wars, figuring out why we are in Sipheria, among other things. Note that there will also be easter eggs such as cryptic passwords that you can find in the comics, which can then potentially be used in the game (for example - a code that you see in one of scenes in the comic).

During the first year, two story books will be captured within the Comics, and there will be one issue released every month of about 25 pages each. They will be fully-colored, professional art and ink.

This opportunity is tagged to each NFT separately - which means that if you have minted a Sipher Comic Mint Pass on your Genesis Sipher NFT, and then trade the same Genesis Sipher NFT to a friend, they will not be able to mint another Sipher Comic Mint Pass. Sipher Comic Mint Passes are limited by the Supply of Genesis NFTs, and therefore, is intentionally made scarce as a benefit to our Genesis Sipher NFT holders.

You can hold and keep the Sipher Comic Mint Pass for yourself to use and read the comics whenever you want, or you can sell this mint pass to other players or community members via the Secondary Market (OpenSea) to give them a chance to read the comics as well.

Other Benefits, and Disclaimers

Please note that the team is also looking to provide other benefits. However, these are still in discussions and as such have not been informed to the public until they are official. Our team believes in honesty and transparency, and prefers to under-promise and over-deliver.

More importantly, as both a community member and investor, it is important that you understand that the team has a long-term focus on this game. As such, please know that if you are purchasing a Genesis Sipher you may not see an immediate return on investment. So we believe this to be a long-term investment rather than a short-term one. It is up to you to decide whether you will buy and hold from now and wait for the game and cloning mechanics to come out, or just buy in later (no guarantee of what price these NFTs will be at in the future).

This is NOT financial advice, so please do your own research before you make any investment decisions. Think pros and cons, the risks involved, and your tolerance towards these risks.

If after these considerations you decide to stay and hold, then we're happy that you are a part of this community and appreciate your support! But if after those considerations you decide you'd rather sell now and wait to see what happens, need to need to let go of your Sipher in the short term (again, no guarantee that the prices will be lower/higher by that time), or just can't take the pressure of waiting to see what happens and you'd rather just sell your Sipher, then although it will be sad to see you leave us as an investor, we understand that everyone has different circumstances. Regardless, you will still be a valued member of our community, and we hope you will find your time here engaging and fun with all the activities we have planned.

FAQs related to this topic

Will my Genesis Sipher(s) be stronger or have more perks in-game as compared to Non-Genesis Siphers?

Excluding the Species and Sub-Race considerations (different skills, abilities, etc.), your Genesis Sipher will not be stronger than other Siphers in-game when it comes to PvP matches. This is to keep the battle grounds fair to everyone.

However, there will be certain perks that come with your Genesis Sipher, which Non-genesis Siphers will not have, such as:

  • The properties of your Genesis Sipher NFT, such as skins, eyes, hair, and defensive equipments (armor, headgear, gloves) will be reflected in-game as COSMETICS. Refer to the subsequent question about defensive equipment properties and its impact on gameplay below for further details.
  • If your Genesis Sipher NFT has a 'Weapon' property, and are also one of the lucky ones to have a logically functional weapon, that weapon will be an extremely special skin that ONLY owners of Genesis Sipher NFTs with that particular 'Weapon' property has access to equip and use within the game. Furthermore, that special skin also gives your weapon some additional stats within the PvE game. Refer to the subsequent question about weapon properties and its impact on gameplay below for further details.
  • Unique "Banner Cards", Name Tags, and Frames that are visible in the Game Lobby, Loading Screens, and In-game overlay. Opponents or team members will know you are an "OG" when you are competing against them.
  • Sub-races will have different recognizable visual traits in game (we are still working on a few different options, but think aura, different ring designs, walking trails)
  • Genesis Sipher full sets will give you specific buffs (ONLY APPLICABLE TO PVE - DUNGEONS)
How will the defensive equipment (armor, helmet, etc.), that my current Genesis Sipher NFT contains, affect the gameplay?

The defensive equipment that your Genesis Sipher currently has will only be considered cosmetics in-game. Essentially your Genesis Sipher NFTs will allow you to have a very unique look in-game that no other player will have. These are NOT MEANT TO BE FIXED FUNCTIONAL armor, helmets etc.

How will the weapon (if any) that my current Genesis Sipher NFT contains, affect the gameplay?

These are not all meant to be fixed FUNCTIONAL weapons, as we never intend for you to fight in challenging dungeons or against other players with only a piece of menu paper, a compass, a brick, walkie talkie, or a cute octopus. Within the game, you will have the choice of selecting your weapon which will result in different attacks. You will NOT have to buy weapons to play and will be given a set of basic weapons for you to explore and determine what suits your playstyle. Throughout your progression, you will upgrade, unlock newer weapons with stronger attributes. More details about functional weapons will be released later.

What is the purpose of the rarities of these Genesis Sipher NFTs?

The rarity of your Genesis Sipher NFTs mainly has the purpose of identifying how that particular Sipher rarity ranks as compared to others, based on specific traits. This rank is calculated based on the traits that your Sipher NFT has, and how many more of each trait there are available on the Genesis Sipher NFTs within the same collection (e.g. Sipherian Surge Collection for the Sipher INU NFTs; Sipher NEKOs as compared to other NEKOs in the Sipherian Flash Collection). In addition to the in-game cosmetics, this mainly affects those that consider themselves "NFT collectors" who try to get the rarest of traits and NFTs.

Why release so many Sipher NFTs (40,000 including all the announced species)?

Given the long-term strategy and approach for the game, we believe that this number is low as compared to the amount of people that we are targeting to onboard to the game in the future. Additionally, there are only 10,000 of each of the Genesis Sipher species, be it the Inus, Nekos, Toris, Burus, etc. Each of the species will have different skill-trees and attacks, and will target different playstyles from one another, which means that they should be considered separate from each other. Think about other games where you have a broad selection of characters - you will not always be playing the same character depending on what your team mates have selected, or what would work best as a strategy against what your opponents selected. So there may be players who may end up owning one or more of each of the species.

Will my Genesis Sipher NFTs be worth more than those that are cloned down the line?

Determining price value for an NFT is highly speculative that only the market can establish. As such, we can't say whether Genesis Siphers will be worth more than those cloned down the line. However, we can say that there is functional value to holding a Genesis Sipher. As described in

, there are some perks and inherent benefits that you receive that are exclusive to Genesis Siphers. This means that cloned Siphers will not receive these benefits, hence there being more functional value on Genesis Siphers.

Additionally, it's worth noting that, although there is a possibility of some Genesis Siphers being weaker than than their future clones (because of how the cloning process is intended to work), Genesis Siphers will always retain their ability to create the best clones, those that not even clones of clones will be able to match. This strength in cloning, is where we believe lies the inherent value and utility of the Genesis Sipher NFTs.
